About the program
The heart of our ministry is our parish-based Bible study program for adult women. Run by local lay women volunteers, approved by parish pastors, and supported by Walking with Purpose national staff, our parish programs welcome all women irrespective of faith background, age, or marital status. The program incorporates at-home Scripture study, weekly small group discussion, and monthly talks on relevant study material.
Each parish program is led by a volunteer leadership team whose members receive online training and ongoing mentoring through our acclaimed leadership development program. The Walking with Purpose leadership development program gives leaders the tools needed to effectively evangelize women in the parish community and the confidence to launch a WWP parish program without depleting scarce parish resources.
If you attend WWP as a part of a parish program, you'll meet weekly either to discuss the lesson or watch an inspirational video at a Connect Coffee. Classes meet for about 90 minutes weekly, usually beginning in September and ending in April. Most programs schedule breaks around holidays to coincide with local school calendars, and many programs offer childcare.
