Parish History
The parish was founded in 1959.
The first building was a Quonset hut that was used as the place of worship.
The present church was completed in 1964, dedicated August 9th, 1964. It is of Greek Architecture. Its walls are constructed of St. Meinrad Sandstone from St. Meinrad, Indiana. There are 87.5 tons of stone in the Church. The Pillars and Fascia are all poured concrete totaling 1289 tons of Concrete. The Marble Statue of St. Cecilia on the front of the Church was sculptured by Mr Roberto Bertelli of Carrara, Italy. All woodcarvings in the interior of the Church were executed by Giac. Vincenzo Mussner of Ortisei in the Province of Bolzano, Italy. The Altar Stone is solid marble, weighing 1600 lbs.
The current rectory, formally the convent, was constructed of St. Meinrad Sandstone and built by the Parishioners in the Spring of 1966.
September of 1966 marked the beginning of the Parochial School in the basement of the Church with the first three grades under the guidance and direction of the Sisters of St. Dominic.
The first pastor was Father Reinhard Eck.

The community has grown to presently about 385 families.
The parish hall and school opened in January 1991.
Our present school serves students in K through 8th grade.
